Dependence: The Beauty of Relying on God

If there's one word adults resist but children accept without hesitation, it’s dependence. Children don't apologize for needing help. They aren’t embarrassed by their limitations. They don't hide their exhaustion, confusion, or need for comfort. 

Dependence isn't a burden to them—it’s the natural way to relate. But dependence feels threatening to adults. We associate it with immaturity, inadequacy, or weakness. 

We strive to be self-sufficient, competent, and emotionally guarded. We may accept God in theory, but in practice, we often rely on ourselves until we break.

Yet in the kingdom, dependence is not a flaw—it is a feature. It is not an obstacle to spiritual maturity but the core of it. Dependence is where childlikeness thrives and where relational intimacy with the Father grows deeper. 

Dependence is not something God disapproves of in His children but something He delights in.
