Heirs of God — Not Just His Gifts Many Christians naturally focus on what God gives: forgiveness, healing, wisdom, provision, strength, comfort, and eternal life. All of these are beautiful gifts. But Paul says something even more profound: we are heirs of God. God Himself is the inheritance. This means: The Father’s heart is our home. The Father’s presence is our portion. The Father’s love is our identity. The Father’s life is our life. This isn't about what we gain. It’s about who we become: sons and daughters sharing in God's very life. In the language of the early church, this is participation—sharing in the life of the Trinity through Christ and the Spirit.
