From Spiritual Orphans to Beloved Children
Before new birth, our hearts often feel: disconnected, confused, distant, spiritually numb, weighed down by shame, and unsure of God’s love. But when the Spirit gives new life, a quiet miracle unfolds.
We begin to sense:
• The Father’s nearness
• The warmth of His affection
• The peace of belonging
• The joy of forgiveness
• The desire to be with Him
• The freedom to trust
• The hope of transformation
And so much more.
This is not psychological. It is not emotional wishfulness. It is the Spirit of Sonship awakening our inner being. As Paul says in Romans 8, we receive “the Spirit of adoption,” and our hearts begin to cry, “Abba, Father.”
This is the signature evidence of new birth: not theological correctness, not moral perfection, not external performance.
But a heart awakening to the Father’s love.
