The myth of self-sufficiency
Humility isn't about belittling ourselves but about correctly understanding our worth. It involves honestly surrendering the myth of self-sufficiency. It’s the willingness to be supported. It’s the freedom to receive instead of needing to prove oneself.
When a child reaches out their arms to be carried, they are not ashamed of their dependence. They do not think, “I should be able to do this on my own.” They are not embarrassed to need help.
Need is natural to them.
This is humility.
Not weakness—truth.
