We Have All Built Our Lives on Fragile Words
Every one of us has been influenced by the voices of the past: a parent’s approval or silence; a teacher’s encouragement or criticism; a friend’s affirmation or betrayal; a pastor’s blessing or misunderstanding; the words spoken in childhood; the words spoken in anger; the words spoken in fear; the words spoken when we were most vulnerable.
Many of these words sunk deep inside us without us even noticing. Some turned into inner voices: “I’m not enough.” “I have to prove myself.” “I’m too much.” “I’m unlovable.” “I can’t fail.” “I don’t matter.” “I have to stay strong.” “I’m alone.” “I need to earn acceptance.”
These words feel powerful because they were spoken at formative moments in our lives. But none of these words define you.
Not one.
The only words with the power to reveal your true identity are the words spoken by the Father.
