What “Abba” Meant to Jesus
Before we can understand the significance of “Abba” for us, we must first recognize what it meant to Jesus. Jesus used this word in His most vulnerable and sacred moments: when He withdrew to lonely places to pray, when He taught the disciples to approach God, and when He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane (as recorded in Mark 14:36).
“Abba” was not just a casual nickname. It was the deepest way to express His relationship with the Father— a bond of unwavering trust, love, unity, and closeness.
And in an incredible act of generosity, Jesus shares this relationship with us.
