Childlikeness is Not Achieved—It is Received
One of the biggest misconceptions in Christian growth is believing that we have to “try harder” to be trusting, humble, joyful, honest, simple, or emotionally open.
But childlikeness is not something you do. It is something that happens to you.
When the Spirit reveals the Father’s heart, trust grows. When the Spirit heals wounds, softness returns. When the Spirit takes away shame, joy is reborn. When the Spirit quiets fear, rest feels natural. When the Spirit draws near, the heart becomes simple again.
Childlikeness is the result of sonship.
And sonship is a gift from the Spirit.
