Jesus Lived with a Child’s Sense of Awe
It is sometimes easy to forget that Jesus lived with a heart wide open. He did not move through the world as a stoic, detached divine mind. He lived with attention, curiosity, joy, and deep delight in the Father’s world.
He noticed things others overlooked—sparrows, lilies, seeds, coins, widows, children, lepers, outcasts. He drew theological truths from mustard plants, fishermen’s nets, storms, fig trees, and vineyard workers. He carried a way of seeing that was awake to the details of life in ways His disciples often were not.
This is one reason crowds gathered around Him—He made people feel alive again. He made the familiar seem wondrous. He helped people see the Father’s goodness in everyday things. And He lived with unshakable confidence that His Father was always near, always good, always working.
Wonder is natural when you believe you're never alone. Jesus reveals not only what God is like, but also what humans are meant to be like.
And He was the most childlike human who ever lived.
