Simplicity is often overlooked as a key quality of a childlike heart.
It’s not simplicity of intellect—children can ponder profound mysteries. It’s not simplicity of calling—children can be highly imaginative and purposeful. It’s about simplicity of being—an untroubled soul, free from the noise and pressures that adulthood so easily brings.
As we grow, life becomes layered: obligations, expectations, fears, roles, responsibilities, internal narratives, spiritual anxieties, cultural pressures, and emotional complexities. These layers accumulate slowly, like dust, until we can no longer see clearly or breathe freely.
Simplicity is the Spirit’s gentle act of freeing the soul from what it was never meant to bear—drawing us back to what matters most: loving God, being loved by God, and living out of that love.
Simplicity isn't a step down from spiritual maturity; it's one of its most beautiful expressions.
