The kingdom welcomes little hearts.
Matthew 18:3
Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
This is perhaps the most countercultural invitation in the entire Christian story. Rather than calling us to become more impressive, Jesus calls us to become more dependent. Rather than elevating our accomplishments, He blesses our poverty of spirit. Rather than affirming the ladders we build for ourselves, He invites us to walk through a door so low that the only way in is to be little again.
It is an invitation into a kind of maturity rooted in trust rather than self-sufficiency, in vulnerability rather than guardedness, in awe rather than cynicism.
It is a journey back to the simplicity of heart that genuinely knows God as Father.
