The adult heart often longs for peace but seeks it by becoming stronger, smarter, more prepared, and more guarded.
The childlike heart finds peace by becoming small – resting, surrendering, letting go, being held, trusting, and ceasing to strive.
Children are peaceful because they are not in charge. Peace enters when the heart stops trying to be the hero of its own story.
