From Offspring to Heirs: What’s the Difference?
Being offspring signifies origin. Being heirs signifies relationship, inheritance, and shared life. All humanity is God’s offspring, created in His image, formed by His hands, and sustained by His breath.
But to be an heir is to participate in the Father’s household, sharing in the life, love, and blessings that come from belonging. In other words, offspring describes where we come from, while heirs describe who we are to the Father in Christ when the Holy Spirit indwells us.
This is the journey the Spirit guides us on—a journey from simply knowing God as Creator to truly knowing Him as Abba, and understanding ourselves as His beloved sons and daughters.
