Playfulness Was Always Part of God’s Design
Scripture reveals a God much more joyful than we often imagine. Wisdom is described in Proverbs 8:30-31 as “rejoicing in His whole world and delighting in the children of man.”
The creation story is full of beauty, variety, color, and abundance—the work of a God who takes pleasure in creating. And the apostle John writes that God’s love is so abundant it fills His
children with joy—overflowing joy—because relational delight is at the heart of His nature.
God is not a distant, stoic ruler.
He is a loving Father who delights.
And children mirror their Father's heart when they take delight too.
