Why Rest Is the Most Difficult Part of Trust
Many believers love God sincerely but struggle deeply with rest. Not just physical rest—soul rest.
Soul rest means:
– I no longer carry what isn't mine.
– I am not responsible for the universe.
– I can stop monitoring everything.
– I can surrender outcomes.
– I am held.
– I don't have to be strong all the time.
But rest becomes hard when survival training keeps you on edge. Hypervigilance feels responsible. Control feels safe. Worry feels necessary. These habits develop from childhood wounds, adult disappointments, and even spiritual settings that focus on effort instead of grace.
Yet at the center of the kingdom is a Father whose heart says:
“You can stop now. I’ve got you.”
