Living Lightly Requires Letting Go of the Illusion of Control
Adults often carry anxiety because they believe the lie: “It’s all up to me.” This belief leads to: – perfectionism – chronic worry – relational tension – inability to rest – hypervigilance – exhaustion – overthinking – spiritual heaviness.
Children are aware of these truths. They understand that someone else is responsible. They believe that provision, protection, and guidance are not their responsibilities.
Living simply is liberation from the myth of self-reliance.
The humility of childlikeness says: “I don’t have to control this. I don’t have to fix this. I don’t have to know everything.” Control constricts the soul. Trust eases it.
