Co-Heirs With Christ: A Staggering Thought
If it weren’t written in Scripture, it might seem almost irreverent to say: We are co-heirs with Christ. Not just parallel heirs, not minor heirs, but coheirs.
This means the love the Father has for Jesus is the love He has for us.
The relationship Jesus has is the relationship we are invited into. The favor Jesus carries rests on us as well. The life Jesus shares with the Father is the life we are drawn into.
We do not earn this inheritance. We receive it by grace. Jesus shares everything with us— not reluctantly, but joyfully— because the Father’s love is abundant, overflowing, and it is never diminished by being shared.
